I, Nancy Aguirre, focus my practice on trauma because stressful life changes, neglect, abandonment, emotional/physical/sexual childhood abuse, rejection, exploitation, incest or family violence could result in experiencing distorted perceptions, emotions, beliefs and meanings about the self and life. Trauma freezes the traumatic experience in the nervous system creating unhelpful thinking, and negative self-assessment. These conditions can affect your capacity to tolerate and adapt to life's ups and downs; break old patterns that hold you back; avoid engaging in risky behaviours; and re-enacting your past traumas over and over.
I provide brief and in-depth PTSD/trauma therapy using a holistic/integrated approach to help you overcome feeling hunted, trapped, blocked, guilty, shameful, worthless, hopeless, and helpless. You will learn skills to process your grief/losses, anger, hypervigilance, hypertensitivity, flashbacks, nightmares, fears, panic attacks, depression, anxiety and avoidant behaviours.
