Counselling can be a helpful tool when you are feeling overwhelmed due to mental health concerns, history of trauma, relationship strain, or situational stress. Stress and developmental traumas can activate your nervous system, leaving you in a “fight or flight” state causing feelings of anxiety, low mood, and irritability. I would like to help you learn more about yourself, strategies to manage and lessen negative responses, and find a sense of calm again.
We would work together to review your history, present day concerns and create a plan that works on your goals. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative therapy and am an EMDR Certified Therapist and CIT (Registered with EMDRIA). I use somatic processing, imagery, and mindfulness as tools of support.
I am compassionate, empathetic, and hope to bring a sense of calm optimism to our sessions. We all experience stress in our lives and having support to reflect on ourselves and why we might respond to it in the way we do can help us to find the opportunities to change, heal, and create the internal balance we need.
