About
I believe in the mind-body connection, and how distress impacts how we show up in our lives & relationships. I trust clients instinctively know what to do to feel better, and that I spark their insight by allowing someone to first feel heard and understood. Clients and I often explore how to take the charge out of distressing emotions and/or experiences that underlie their presenting concerns (e.g., anxiety, depression, work/life/relationship stressors etc). Living with type-1 diabetes myself, I also support people in reducing T1D-related distress in order to feel more confident managing this chronic condition.
As an integrative therapist, I use various interventions to help clients find more ease in their daily life. Collaboratively, I tailor my approach to meet clients' counselling goals and expectations. Most often, I use EMDR and other client-centered approaches to explore the unique factors contributing to a individual's concerns.
I am described as a warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic person who is easy to connect with. I care deeply about providing a safe space for clients to explore their concerns, and I value the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship. It would be an honour to support your efforts to experience meaningful and positive shifts in your health and wellbeing.
