I care deeply about giving folks a space to be heard and seen. I believe that the beauty of therapy lies in the growth and transformation that becomes possible when people experience safe, caring presence —both within themselves and with others. I am passionate about working with folks struggling with anxiety, trauma, panic disorder, OCD, and depression. I also find deep meaning in accompanying people grappling with big, existential questions. My ideal client is interested in self-exploration and sees change as a complex and multifacted process that involves many angles and layers.
I draw on psychodynamic psychotherapy, while incorporating Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and compassion-based approaches. To learn more about these approaches and how I integrate them, please see the following blog post: consciouscounsellingandwellness.com/post/from-unconscious-patterns-to-conscious-living-introducing-laura-gallivan
I take a whole-person approach to therapy, because I believe that every person's story is different—even if two people have the same symptoms. You deserve a space where you can safely explore and process your own story with compassion. From this space of nonjudgemental awareness, together we can facilitate lasting changes in your life.
