My approach goes beyond talking about your past—I’m here to help you rewire your present so you can create a future that actually feels like yours. Rooted in evidence-based therapy, somatic wisdom, and subconscious and energetic principles, we look not only at your story, but at your state. That means shifting the patterns held in your body, nervous system, and belief systems—so you can stop repeating the same cycles that keep you feeling stuck, small, or scattered.

It's not just you, life HAS gotten harder in the last few years. If you've been powering through, staying strong and carrying on, but now you're barely getting by and you're tired of feeling like you're not really living your life, it might be time for outside support. The benefit of therapy is that it's a time where you get to focus on yourself, to look at your life, and to get an outside perspective on how it could be different. You don't have to just endure, with the right support, you can heal from the past, and move forward towards a better future.

I became a therapist because I believe in the power of healing. I’ve seen it happen, and it can happen for you too. When you begin to heal, you discover new hope for your life. I believe all of us, no matter the circumstances we come from, have this innate ability to transcend suffering and become who we were meant to be. I approach therapy from this lens, and I walk along side you as you begin this new path in your life. Whether you're depressed, anxious, grieving, working through addiction, feeling lost in life, or anything else, I invite you to start the journey today and discover what hope can do in your life.

People often come to me when they: want to understand the “why” behind their stress responses; are highly self-aware but struggle to apply what they know; feel limited by their anxiety and/or depression; want to feel confident in their sexuality and gender identity; feel chronically stressed, burnt out, and dissatisfied with life; are at a crossroads in their life; feel unmotivated and stuck; don't have anyone they can be their authentic self with; are experiencing conflict in personal and professional relationships; want to try therapy for the first time or experience a different approach to therapy.

At times life can be overwhelming with stressors from family, work, relationships and personal issues coming up to interfere with our present contentment and peace. Seeking out a therapist to talk with about it can be scary and add to the stress however, it can also help to provide insight and support along with learning healthy coping strategies in order for life to feel more manageable. Sometimes, the goal is not to fix it or change it but to not feel as alone and have an outside neutral person to help offer a space to start to work through things and heal and grow.

I work primarily with empaths, highly sensitive souls and people who tend to take on the 'caretaker role'. I support people through anxiety, self-criticism, people pleasing, and difficulty putting themselves first. I help people understand and communicate their needs, boundaries and build stronger relationships with themselves and others.

Are you looking for someone who can acknowledge and hold your darkness that feels risky to touch or share? Does moving through your day feel like walking through mud and the people around you don’t seem to notice or offer a hand? Or maybe there’s a weight on your shoulders that you’ve been carrying for a long time, and you’re afraid to put it down or show it to others? I will help you overcome and take control of these issues through honest dialogue, relationality and somatic awareness.

There are times in our life when it feels like nothing we do makes a difference. Problems become complicated by issues associated with our struggles managing mood or anxiety, feelings of shame, or coping with grief and loss. Situations such as transitions related to life stages, conflict or loss of connection in significant relationships, or changes in mental well being can be distressing and overwhelming. I work hard to build collaborative alliances with clients to co-construct different narratives about our relationship with problems, and develop alternative personal stories of strength, growth and recovery.

I specialize in helping women process their trauma (particularly birth and reproductive trauma) and relearn how to live authentic lives. While my practice addresses a range of concerns, I’m particularly well suited to support those who are mothers, have a trauma history, identify as high achievers and over functioners, have difficulty relaxing or slowing down, and appear like they have it all together but on the inside feel overwhelmed and alone. I also find meaning in supporting therapists through supervision and consultation.

It is the normal experience of struggle and suffering that brings people to psychotherapy. You may feel that something in your life is not making sense or is not working. That may be a relationship, your reactions to life events, the past wounds of trauma that emerge, or other challenging experiences; it is all okay. Whatever it is that brings you in, I maintain that there is nothing “wrong” with you, that there is just something wrong for you. This perspective can seem completely foreign at first, however, it is the process of therapy that can shift the feeling of being “wrong” to an intuitive, felt sense that you are just right.

We all need support at different times in our lives and I understand that reaching out for this help can be difficult. My therapeutic approach is to connect with you, where you are at, as the first step in our work. From there, we will strive to recognize where change is needed and how to create this change for a more manageable place in life. Understanding your story, respectfully and safely, then creating goals for success and how to get there, will be the direction of our work together. With my primary focus on anxiety, depression, family issues and grief, the ultimate outcome of our work should feel progressive and empowering.

If you are someone who is having a difficult time separating their past from their future, you have come to the right place. Our wounds are often originated from childhood and adolescent experiences. When these memories are left unresolved or not tended to, they can show up in raw ways in our present day lives. These wounds could be a result of complex grief, relational trauma, abandonment and many more traumatic events. Specializing in trauma, grief and sex therapy, I work with a psychodynamic approach to understand your roots and reframe thoughts, behaviors and emotions that no longer work for you.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
