Welcome! I understand how challenging it can be to watch a child struggle whether it be with mental health challenges, social situations, ADHD, Anxiety, Insecure Attachment, navigating changes at home, grieving the loss of a loved one, big feelings and so on. That is why I have dedicated my career to working exclusively with children and adolescents ages 3-24.

Do you struggle with navigating challenging relationships with your partner, your child, your family, or even yourself that affects your day-to-day functioning and well-being? Do you feel exhausted by what it means to live up to someone else’s standards, just getting through the day, the thought that there’s no light at the end of the tunnel? Do you wonder if it could ever get better? Now more than ever, people are feeling anxious and overwhelmed in their feelings of disconnection and loneliness.

You’ve been feeling low. You’ve been more anxious than usual and are unsure why. Perhaps you have suffered a loss in your life and don’t know the “right way” to grieve, you just know that you want to feel better, but aren’t sure how to do that. Maybe you want to be the person you were before. Maybe you just need someone to talk to. We all go through challenges in life leaving us feeling stuck – confused, hurt, and unsure about how to move forward. Though your experiences as an individual are unique, I aim to help you feel that you are not alone on your journey, wherever you’re at in your life.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, body image, self-esteem, and neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism, as well as eating disorders and trauma. Many feel stuck in patterns or disconnected from themselves. Together, we explore what’s happening in the present while making sense of underlying patterns and learned ways of coping, while also building tools that feel realistic and supportive, at a pace that feels manageable.

Grief can arise from various experiences, including the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship, career changes, health challenges, or significant life transitions. It can also stem from ambiguous losses, such as the loss of a dream, unmet expectations, or the impact of collective trauma. Understanding the different types of grief allows us to address and process these emotions more effectively.

Have you been noticing changes in your child or teen? They may seem overwhelmed, shutdown, anxious, angry or just not quite themselves? Maybe you’ve noticed changes in their mood, friendships, school or confidence. Despite your best efforts, it feels harder to connect, understand what is going on or know how to help. The truth is, kids and teens today are carrying a lot, often without having the words or tools to explain what they’re feeling inside. Having the right support can make a meaningful difference.

Many women feel like they have to hold everything together for everyone else. You might look strong on the outside while carrying anxiety, self-doubt, relationship stress, or the weight of past trauma inside. Maybe you’ve been stuck in toxic or codependent relationships, struggling with body image, or feeling like you’re never “good enough.” You may also be trying to move forward while still carrying the impact of sexual trauma or abuse. Holding all of that alone is exhausting. Therapy can be a place where you finally don’t have to carry it by yourself.

Have you ever felt utterly alone, anxious, and disconnected? I too felt unsure, overwhelmed, and had trouble coping with life’s curve balls. My journey involved learning to lean into discomfort, to be open and vulnerable, and that one wrong turn does not mean the end. By opening up my authentic self to others and to myself, I learned that I am enough. I believe success in therapy is achieved by using an individualized approach that celebrates the qualities that bring us together as well as those that make us unique. We all face our own battles, but we do not have to go it alone.

Sometimes life doesn’t seem to be going very well, and it can be hard to figure out why. By providing a warm atmosphere and asking good questions, I help clients work through their challenges and take steps toward healing. It’s undeniable—the world is changing. Life can feel increasingly stressful, overwhelming, and loud. Amid constant distractions, it’s easy to lose connection with yourself and your inner voice. This disconnection often shows up in subtle ways—saying yes when you mean no, staying in draining situations, ignoring your gut, or overthinking decisions and seeking reassurance that you’re making the “right” choice. These challenges don’t just live in your thoughts and emotions, they also show up in the body. The tightness in your chest or the knot in your stomach may seem to come out of nowhere, but it’s simply your body’s voice.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
