The pace is yours to make. Slow down and be present to now. Envision and create yourself. I support you as past merges into present time. Somatic (body) awareness, CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy), clinical hypnosis and mindful meditative awareness brings integration of thoughts and feelings. Self awareness and deliberate intention encourages you to discover mental "keys" to behaviours and thoughts that you want to change.

Have you ever felt utterly alone, anxious, and disconnected? I too felt unsure, overwhelmed, and had trouble coping with life’s curve balls. My journey involved learning to lean into discomfort, to be open and vulnerable, and that one wrong turn does not mean the end. By opening up my authentic self to others and to myself, I learned that I am enough. I believe success in therapy is achieved by using an individualized approach that celebrates the qualities that bring us together as well as those that make us unique. We all face our own battles, but we do not have to go it alone.

Do you feel stuck and unable to change? You’ve worked hard to get to where you are but find yourself asking “is this as good as it gets?”. You know that pain and stress are a normal part of life, but it throws you every time. You feel irritated when something doesn’t go as planned, or feel like you go from 0 to 100 within a matter of moments. You find yourself going into autopilot just to get through the day, or sometimes even crying all alone. Regardless of when life got hard, it’s the same old pattern. You want to feel better – you just don’t know how.

Throughout my life I have always found purpose in coming alongside people in their journeys; engaging with them, identifying their struggle and providing a toolbox for them to achieve their desired goal of wholeness. This goal has led me to pursue specific education; a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in Crisis Counselling, Bereavement education through University of Toronto, and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. My educational pathway has only ignited my passion to help people process their lived experiences and challenges even more.

As a psychologist registered in clinical and school psychology, my training allows me to assess and treat a wide variety of mental health concerns. My experience in school psychology provides me with a unique perspective of the challenges that parents, and their children experience not only at home but in meeting their social, emotional, and cognitive needs within the greater context of their community. I take pride in tailoring treatment to individual needs by integrating learning and cognitive profiles into the application of developmentally appropriate interventions.

I can relate to the many issues and needs of others. Many times, we will experience stress and anxiety or depression because of our past experiences. Some problems are so traumatic that we may actually feel a sense of hopelessness. Some of us need help in working through trauma, self-esteem, or confidence. we can accomplish goals on creating a healthier and more adaptive life where you overall feel better and when we start to heal and feel good we are going to enjoy the many things that we have in our lives a little bit more.

Most people have had experience with trauma and addiction - sometimes both. I have extensive experience in multiple areas including substance abuse and addiction, relapse prevention, sex, love and relationship addiction, grief, loss, mental health and trauma (informed). With my years of experience I will help you attain skills and coping mechanisms to focus on your future. This means that I am able to support and guide you through your journey. Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
