You may be living with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, or the lasting impact of past experiences. You might feel stuck in survival mode, struggle with self-criticism, or carry a deep sense of responsibility for others that leaves little space for your own needs. You are seeking healing that feels steady, respectful, and meaningful, not rushed or one-size-fits-all. Your goals may include feeling more grounded, developing self-trust, and building relationships that feel more secure and authentic, while still honoring the values and connections that matter to you.

I believe in creating a safe space for my clients to be seen, heard, and understood. Art therapy can provide a new avenue of expression to help address concerns such as anxiety and depression, anger management, or other emotional and behavioural challenges. I bring a wealth of experience from working individually with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in school settings, and I continue to implement this experience into the therapeutic space. Additionally, I am also experienced in working with individuals to address relationship concerns by exploring underlying emotions, boundaries, and the conscious/unconscious mind.

Have you ever felt like you had to suffer alone or in silence? I used to feel that way too. I was always the "therapist friend" - the one who listened, held space, and offered advice. But it wasn't until I began my own therapy journey that I realized just how much I needed support myself. Therapy didn't turn me into a new person, it helped me heal into who I truly am. It helped me break old patterns I couldn't change on my own, and became more present, grounded, and compassionate - with others and with myself. As a therapist now, I strive to bring that same experience into the room: one of empathy, understanding, and genuine care.

Does anxiety make it hard to enjoy life? Do you find yourself constantly worrying or feeling tense? Living with anxiety can feel exhausting, like there’s a weight you can’t shake that keeps you from feeling calm and present. Or maybe you’ve been through a difficult experience that still affects you, even if it happened years ago. Trauma can leave you feeling on edge, unable to trust, or haunted by memories that just won’t go away, making everyday life feel like a struggle. You may feel trapped by constant worry, haunted by difficult experiences, or left alone in grief after a significant loss.

Sometimes we can feel disconnected to both others and even ourselves.. Our true self. It's not always easy to recognize this and it's definitely not easy to reach out for support, but here you are! I’m passionate about helping others build meaningful, healthy connections. To feel more connected to yourself, your loved ones, your purpose and your values. When we can move towards more clarity and insight to what that is, we can create a life that feels authentic. When we learn what that is, even when we are faced with the inevitable ups and downs of life, we can feel more inner trust to handle it. Does that sound like your goal?

Struggling to feel misunderstood, and overwhelmed, that affects your ability to thrive in a world not built for you? Do you feel worn down, or emotionally flooded by masking your needs, or simply getting through each day? Do you wonder if your daily life and relationships could be based on authenticity rather than just survival? Nowadays, individuals and parents from the neurodivergent community are feeling stuck and isolated by the limited therapeutic spaces that truly "get" the neurodivergent experience.

Relationships fulfill and sustain us. Sometimes we are challenged to grow and change so that we may strengthen and deepen these relationships. At these moments we may feel afraid, confused or at a loss for what to do. Therapy is about asking for guidance as we begin to explore and accept change. I work with the belief that we all share a common emotional experience despite the differences in the way we choose to express ourselves. As every issue is unique, I offer my clients the opportunity to tell their story in their own way.

In the busyness of life, whether you’re caring for others, navigating a new season, or adjusting to a new place, it’s easy to push emotions aside. Over time, stress, anxiety, and worries can pile up and feel overwhelming. I often describe emotions like a basket of laundry: eventually, they need care and attention. I believe healing happens best in safe, compassionate spaces, grounded in hope and grace. I work with busy moms, young adults in transition, and immigrants, helping clients build self-awareness, regulate emotions like anxiety, anger, and depression, and strengthen communication and relationships.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
