When life's challenges bring us uncertainty, fear, insecurity, and feeling out of control, it's not easy to make changes. In difficult situations, people often need a safe environment where their voices can be heard without judgment. Instead of solving the problem, they often spend their time and energy blaming themselves and others. They need constructive dialogue to address their concerns and solve their problems. They want to find positive solutions and take back control of their lives. Over the past 16 years, I have gained a lot of insight and expertise. supporting people is no longer a job for me, but my passion and mission.

A grief, loss or traumatic experience that makes us feel stuck, can create struggle for a sense of self during a difficult time. Grief can be a loss from the death, dying, chronic illness or experience of 'othering' (disability community and their caregivers) or a major change or shift in life (entrepreneurs and leaders).

From what anyone can tell you’ve got it all going for yourself. But, inside your overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, stressed. You've spent a lot of time just holding things together and you're tired. Or maybe it’s your child struggling. To everyone else it looks like they have it all but you are all too familiar with the call from school in the middle of your work day to pick them up. Maybe they have a stomach ache because of anxiety, or they got into another fight. Maybe they save it all for home where they melt down and just can't cope. You're exhausted and it’s time for a change.

Has "getting by" become a way of life? Are you feeling hijacked by anxiety, stuck in cyclical low mood, or simply overwhelmed in relationship dynamics? Toxic stress and trauma destabilize our nervous system and shake up our sense of safety and control. In therapy, we open the doorway to understanding and neutralizing the roots of your triggers. Trauma-informed therapy works to stabilize your brain and body so that surviving transforms into thriving. It empowers you to restore balance within... to become the architect of your mind... and to cultivate a resilient self, unburdened by the past or life's circumstances.

I am an experienced therapist with 34 years of practice to draw upon. I will listen carefully as you describe the issues that you need support and help to sort out. Often, an increased understanding of the challenges that you face can be very helpful to move forward in your life. As well, learning some new skills to manage the issues and/or gaining a new perspective on the issues can be useful as well. I appreciate that it is not easy to embark on a therapy course so I make every effort to be supportive and understanding as we build a therapy relationship.
