Life can be challenging. It can feel isolating or even frightening at times. However, no one deserves to suffer alone. With the proper help and guidance, solutions can often be found to the obstacles that we face. I am a caring and empathetic therapist with my primary goal being for you to eventually achieve a more peaceful and happy life. Over the years, I have discovered that with the right support and self compassion, we can be guided to recognize and reconnect with our inner strengths to overcome the obstacles (internal or external) that we face.
I have a Masters in Social Work (MSW), and I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with over 15 years of counselling and case management experience. I am the Clinical Director and founder of Newmarket Psychotherapy Team were I/we draw on a strengths-based and client centred approach that is unique to every individual's experience.
Most of us can identify experiences (or an experience) of trauma. As an EMDRIA certified Therapist in EMDR, I can assist you in targeting negative cognitions (or beliefs) from trauma experiences; eventually replacing them with more positive and constructive ones. Note: to connect in a timely manner, my intake coordinator may respond to initial inquiries.
