Hi! I'm Kristen, and I have been a social worker for 15+ years. I am honestly so grateful for the work I get to do and the relationships I've been able to build.
I have worked in diverse practice areas, which have provided me with the knowledge, skills and compassion needed to create meaningful, therapeutic relationships. I believe in the value of showing up as my genuine self in sessions with you. My approach is client-centred; I bring a variety of tools to the table, and I believe you do too. Our work together will be personalized, collaborative, and goal-oriented.
I work with young people and adults, as well as couples.
I am trained in many theoretical approaches, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), CBT, DBT, Solution Focused, Narrative, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, The Gottman Method for couples therapy, and I am IFS-informed.
I work with couples, and with CAF and VAC members.
I believe that each person must be considered in the context of their environment and that sometimes there are systemic and environmental factors to consider. I believe each person is doing the best they can in any given moment.
