My client population includes youth to senior age group with a variety of diagnoses, including Autism, Acquired Brain Injury, Alzheimer's/Dementias, Palliative care, PTSD and general wellness. No musical training is required and clients are encouraged to engage in therapeutic song-writing, vocal/instrumental improvisation, listening & analysis and performance. Clients want to ignite their creativity in order to have resources to deal with mental health challenges and for general mental/emotional/spiritual well-being. Reconnect with the most imaginative part of yourself for access to creative solutions to your own healing.
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with Music Therapist Accreditation (MTA). I use music as a tool to bring unconscious material to the surface so that it can be processed. No musical training or experience is required. Vocal and instrumental improvisation, song-writing and lyric analysis are all part of the journey.
My background is in client-centred, analytic methods of psychotherapy and I have personal experience engaging in depth psychotherapy. I choose to practice with regular clinical and peer supervision and I understand the potential for arts-based therapies to enhance creativity and therefore creative solutions to our challenges.

Weekly Online Support Group 2025 - All Ages

In this group, you will learn Focusing techniques for all aspects of your daily life. We will use music to explore the deeper meaning of unconscious material that arises. No music ability is required. Participants will gain an understand of their maladaptive patterns of thought and behaviour that act as barriers in their lives. These sessions will not "dive deep" into individual participant issues, rather they are meant to provide insight into what might be explored further. Meaningful social interaction, shared experience, emotional support and learning self-care techniques are all benefits of this series of online group sessions.
