Hello, I aim to support people who are struggling with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, as well as distressing life changes. I have been working with individuals of all ages (adults/teens/children) for 15 years, beginning my counselling career working with survivors of sexual assault/abuse, child abuse, and family violence. I have extensive experience working with individuals dealing with trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family and personal stress, and chronic health issues. I also have a heartfelt and personal interest in working with individuals impacted by infertility.
I have experience in DBT, grief counselling, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/ACT, along with specialized training in EMDR Therapy for treating trauma. I strive to bring a warm and non-judgmental presence to my relationship with clients. My goal is to support individuals and couples in increasing their ability to cope and improve their quality of life.
I believe we all have the ability to transform our lives, and heal from traumas and painful experiences. I view therapy as an opportunity to gain insight into ourselves, improve our relationships, and to expand upon our potential. Please contact me via email: Kirsten@amethysttherapy.ca , or telephone: (587) 881-4387 Ext. 0 , to schedule an initial session.
