Kinark Child and Family Services provides consultation, assessment and psychotherapy services for children and youth. We have a focus in comprehensive psychoeducational, psychological, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments. Our psychological assessments help to identify learning disabilities, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), ASD, intellectual disabilities, giftedness and mental health diagnoses (e.g., anxiety, depression). The information gathered through assessments helps to support families in making informed decisions about your child’s health care and educational needs.
Kinark also provides therapy for children and youth with ASD who experience a range of mental health needs, including feelings of anxiety, low mood, challenges with peer interactions or difficulties regulating behaviour. Therapy can help support your child in challenging unhelpful ways of thinking, and to better understand and manage their emotions.
Our clinicians are trained in multiple treatment modalities and mainly practice Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is the most widely researched and accepted therapy used to support the mental health needs we often see in children and youth, including those who have ASD and mental health comorbidities. Contact us to discuss how our services can help.
