Is there any point to therapy in this late stage capitalist hellscape that we now call life? In all directions there is suffering and destruction driven by greed and power mongering. Exhausted and overwhelmed, most of us cope by perpetual distraction through overconsumption and numbing out. Isolation and hopelessness can begin feeling like the norm. The antidote to this is connecting, to ourselves and to each other. What I believe therapy can offer right now is a space to connect, to thaw and come home to ourselves, and to remember what truly matters to us, what we want to build in this life, and who we want to build it with.
My therapeutic approach is relational which means I centre the connection between you and I as the conduit for healing. Having an authentic, reliable, and safe place to connect is a ground for healing and growth. The lens I use is a blend of talk therapy, somatic therapy, attachment-focused therapy, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, and hypnotherapy.
