Sometimes life gets hard and our inner experience becomes heavy, overwhelming or just plain confusing. Like many others, you may long to feel light again or reconnect with who you once were. As a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying), I believe the process of psychotherapy helps you feel less alone, less burdened and more understood. I recognize that it takes courage to take that first step in the healing journey and thus, I believe in meeting you wherever you are at. My experience comes from working with individuals living with grief and loss, trauma, substance use concerns, mood issues, and general feelings of being “stuck."
In your work with me, you can expect a collaborative relationship where we will create a safe space for you to explore and express your authentic self. I practice from a place of non-judgment, respecting your self-determination and empowering you towards your goals.
My approach to counselling is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which encourages clients to accept difficult feelings as a path forward and towards a meaningful life. I also make use of strategies from CBT, DBT and Mindfulness-based approaches. I am currently accepting new clients virtually. I look forward to connecting with you!
