My passion is helping those with a history of trauma (childhood or more recent) who are struggling with emotional dysregulation, intrusive memories, dissociation, and interpersonal relationships. I have been thrilled to be able to help my clients make sense of how these experiences have impacted them, learn effective strategies to cope, recover their self-esteem, and live more in the "now". For those of you who do not feel that trauma is an issue for you, please know that I also have expertise in the treatment of anxiety & panic, depression, grief, stress management, caregiving, parenting, Veterans & coping with life's challenges.
I have a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental presence that will quickly put you at ease and allow you to feel both comfortable and understood by me. I bring curiousity and respect to every therapy session, and prefer to work as collaboratively and transparently as possible, using humour and playfulness when appropriate.
Even though I have studied extensively, I do not subscribe to any one school of thought, preferring instead to offer an eclectic perspective & practical skill development that is specifically tailored to your individual needs.
