Hi, I'm Kim. I have worked with people across the age span, individually and in families, for over 25 years. I am currently working with people who are interested in finding ways to better process and understand strong emotions, complex trauma, mood disorders as well as building stronger connections in their relationships. I have a long history of working with children, teenagers and young adults and am often described as conversational, humorous and creative. I believe in being transparent, flexible, nonjudgmental and creating safe spaces where people feel heard and connected.
Over the years I have been trained in many approaches. I have special interests in Attachment based work, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). I have completed advanced training in Somatic and body based practices to integrate with these approaches in order to address trauma and pain in the body.
I appreciate the trust put in me by those I work with in my practice. It is a privilege. Talk therapy alone is not always enough so I also enjoy working with expressive arts, writing, nature and the body. I thank you for taking the time to read my profile and consider working together.
