I'm accepting new clients and can work from my home office in Lions Bay, my North Vancouver office at 16th & Lonsdale, by zoom, or in some cases, in your home. My philosophy for helping clients: ​ Carefully listening to find out what you want from therapy. Understand what is causing your difficulty. Respecting your readiness or reluctance to change. Fostering hope that we can find practical solutions to your problem(s) that match your abilities and resources. Respecting and encouraging other sources of help. Discussing your progress and satisfaction with my services.
I have a Masters degree in integrated counselling therapy, which combined Person Centred, Cogntive Behavioural Therapy and Attachment Theory. I have also received EMDR training for trauma and taken many courses to update my competence.
Often, people become stuck in life. We can only do what we know, and if that doesn't work you may benefit from visiting a counsellor. I chose to become a counsellor later in life: as an immigrant, former tradesman, 20 year business owner, & mental health non-profit CEO, father and grandfather, I have real-life knowledge as well as a counselling degree.
