I work primarily with children ages four and up through play therapy. Because we cannot expect young children to sit down and discuss their problems and feelings like adults do, allowing a child to express themselves through play is very effective. This builds on the way children naturally communicate - through play! Play also creates a safe place for children to express something that they find troubling. This means that very difficult topics can be worked through in a playful or metaphorical way which is age appropriate for the child. I am Saskatoon’s first and only Certified Play Therapist.
I work with children presenting with various difficulties including abuse/neglect, life transitions (parental separation, moving, etc.), anger, anxiety/depression, grief, behavioral concerns, social skills/peer relationships, and bullying - to name a few!
