With nearly 10 years of experience supporting the development of critical life skills for older teens and adults with autism, I consider this demographic an area of clinical focus and one I am passionate about working alongside. Other practice areas include sexuality and gender, neurodiversity (i.e., ADHD), chronic illness, relationships, anxiety, low mood, work-life balance, self-advocacy, and self-compassion. I also provide assessment services and have training in cognitive assessment, ADHD assessment, and autism assessment.
I use a client-centred approach, drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) to find an approach that best fits the person sitting across from me while being action-driven. I will also draw from Emotion-Focused therapy (EFT), Sensate Focus, and Gottman Couple's Therapy.
With humour and a candid-but-kind mentality, I try building a flexible and honest space for clients to find what resonates and allows them to pursue an aspiring life. By honing a catered and direct approach, together we will find what works best, regardless of "shoulds," so you leave therapy feeling seen and as an integral part of finding what works.
