We are experiencing a paradigm shift in how we view, treat, and resolve mental health complexities. It is no longer sufficient to simply learn about our traumas and understand their origins to expect resolution. We are now approaching trauma from a psychobiological perspective, recognizing that trauma is physically embedded in the cells and tissues of our bodies. By developing our felt sense of these traumas, bringing focused attention to them, and utilizing somatic techniques, trauma resolution becomes achievable.
In one-on-one somatic therapy, which addresses how we hold trauma in our body, we explore and transform thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Often the root causes of the parts of our behaviours we’re not happy with cannot be resolved by talking about them. We honour the body's wisdom to regenerate and heal.
What resonates with me is observing individuals facing challenges, grappling with emotions and behaviors that hinder their well-being. It's truly inspiring to witness them courageously embark on the journey of self-realization, putting in the hard work to find the thread that guides them towards self-love and the pursuit of a healthier, more authentic self.
