I am trained in and use a variety of research and evidence-based intervention modalities in my therapy sessions. I work with individuals presenting with a range of issues including: life changes and adjustment difficulties, social and generalized anxiety, depression, relationship and family difficulties, substance abuse, identity related issues, and work and school related stress.
I aspire to instill a sense of agency in my clients, while trying to help them with their concerns and issues, as well as mitigate their distress. Working from an emotion-focused therapy lens, I'm also informed by CBT, family systems theory, ACT, narrative therapy and client-centered models.
As a first-generation immigrant I understand the interplay of how culture and family norms shape our identities and play a critical role in influencing our experiences. Solutions are co-constructed while working together to understand how the influences of family, culture, and distinct norms have contributed to the client’s current stressors.
