Sometimes we lose the connection with our inner selves, or we don't quite feel comfortable in our skin anymore (or ever). Life is full of transitions, some feel small and some feel insurmountable.
Therapy can be like stirring up a muddy puddle, and waiting for it to settle. Once the debris moves around and quietly settles into its new home, then you can see clearly again. I will be there to consistently provide you with a safe space where you can explore yourself, your needs and wishes. Together we will figure out how we can get you where you want to be, learning new strategies along the way.
As an art therapist, I have an extended set of arts based tools to help you in addition to the traditional therapeutic skills. My work is also informed by my lived experiences as well as my training. I have worked with the neurodivergent population for over 20 years in public education. I am a parent and partner with chronic illness.
I have been the caregiver to grandparents and parents, and survived the subsequent grief of their losses. I have been bullied, dealt with addiction, trauma and chronic stress with accountability and resiliency. I have "lost" my sense of self, but like the phoenix, returned stronger each time.
