Registered Psychotherapist, MEd, RP, CCC
A great deal of our life is spent trying to eliminate the issues that we are struggling with. This can be exhausting and often directs us away from the life that we want to live. My intention as a therapist is to empower my clients find more effective and flexible ways of relating to their struggles so that they can reconnect with the kind of life they find the most meaningful to them. I provide individual, couple, and group counselling services through my practice at Ottawa River Psychology Group.
Much of my practice is supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and relationship issues. I have experience counselling university students as well as providing coaching to adults with ADHD, and therefore offer a unique perspective when working with these populations. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I have received training from ACT creator Stephen Hayes, and ACT psychologists and researchers Jason Luoma, Robyn Walser, and John Forsyth, in order to specialize in this approach. I integrate other evidence-based psychotherapeutic practices and use mindfulness to shift rigid patterns to help facilitate the changes my clients desire.
