I have worked as a therapist for over 25 years helping clients address a wide range of issues including relationship difficulties, stress, anxiety, depression, early trauma and loss. My role often involves encouraging clients by acknowledging the wisdom and resources they already possess and by noticing and supporting new changes as they emerge.
I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, an approach that looks beneath surface patterns of blame and alienation to underlying feelings that often drive such patterns: loneliness, inadequacy, shame, despair and fear. Sharing these feelings can bring couples closer, empowering them to solve problems they face together.
My work is informed by Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Hakomi Therapy, and Internal Family Systems therapy, experiential approaches that harness the power of mindfulness and pay careful attention to the language of the body as a guide for healing.
