About
I am a dedicated Registered Social Worker practicing psychotherapy at a Family Health Team. I have eight years of experience working in mental health in various roles. My current role is to provide support in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. My focus is to empower people to use their strengths and achieve their goals. I strive to offer an alternative perspective on past and present circumstances that may be contributing to distress. I believe the therapy process is about taking your story, creating a new narrative, and writing the next chapter with hope, strength, vulnerability, and a powerful belief in your self.
I use an eclectic approach to therapy, drawing on evidence-based practice. I have strong experience in addiction/substance abuse counselling. Some approaches I use in clinical practice include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Inner child healing/Shadow work, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Grief support.
In my experience, a genuine connection between the client and therapist is vital for therapy to be beneficial. I invite you to reach out and see if I would be a fit in joining you on your healing journey. If we aren't fit, that is OK. The fact that you are here, reading this page, exploring new possibilities.. is a huge step of courage. You got this.
