Over the years, I have helped clients with issues of self-esteem, identity, anxiety/depression, emotional self-regulation, trauma, and illness. I also received specialized training in sex and couple therapy over the span of 2 years. I therefore have extensive training in issues related to sexual desire/arousal, sexual pain, premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. I am also specialized in couple issues, including communication, emotional and sexual intimacy, commitment (e.g. divorce, infidelity, negotiating open relationship), and navigating major life transitions (e.g. childbirth, illness, changes in employment).
My approach to therapy is integrative. This means I draw from different schools of psychology and modify my approach to match the unique needs of clients sitting across from me. Although my primary approach is one that is strength-based, I frequently draw from cognitive-behavioural, mindfulness-based, and emotion-focused therapies.
When working with clients, I also believe that professional honesty, direct communication, and transparency with my thoughts are critical. I am fully bilingual and available to work in either English or French.
