The focus of my practice is to treat people who have emotional dysregulation - stress! This can be due to a mood or personality disorder, chronic pain, trauma or complex trauma, or a major life transition. I use practical, evidence based therapies such as DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Clinical Hypnosis, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to help you fulfill your goals, getting back to living a meaningful, peaceful, productive life. One focus of my practice is treating current military members and veterans.
I focus on what we know about neuropsychology that integrates the brain and body. Bodies manifest stress in so many ways, cognitively, somatically, and behaviourally. Sometimes we don't connect the pieces until we're guided through a therapeutic process that helps us identify and take control of our triggers and issues. This can be a game-changing approach.
We don't have to be whipped around by our emotions, we can control our in-the-moment behaviours, moderate our responses (whether we lash out, or reach for unhealthy instant gratification self-soothe habits), and develop better ways to communicate the intensity of big emotions. 12 week x 90 minute online DBT skills group for high emotional dysregulation that negatively affects your life: Learn to read your body like it's a stress barometer, identify 'in the moment' urges and ways to overcome them, and ultimately identify and deconstruct triggers so you can know yourself better. New groups start regularly and include all materials. An audio record will be provided if you miss a session. Fees are billed weekly at $75 each week for 12 weeks; receipts may be turned in to your insurance provider.One individual session (not included in price of group) is required for assessment pre-group.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) has been shown to reduce the experience of chronic pain. The 12-week group teaches you coping and resiliency skills so life can become about what you can do, not what you can't. Groups are held online so you may attend from wherever you are comfortable, and if you miss, you will receive an audio recording of what you missed. All materials are included; One individual session (not included in price of group) is required for assessment pre-group. Fees are billed weekly at $75 each week for 12 weeks; receipts may be turned in to your insurance provider.
