About
As a psychotherapist specializing in parenting issues, I understand how stressful it can be when, despite your best efforts, you continue to have challenges with your child's behavior. I can help you turn these problems around, using effective strategies based on proven psychological methods -- not parenting trends or fads. I will work to help you understand your unique child more fully and build on your parenting strengths to create a family atmosphere that is harmonious, respectful and one which lays a foundation for healthy self-esteem.
I can offer help with a variety of difficult parenting challenges including: tantrums/ anger, disrespectful communication, power struggles/defiance, low self-esteem/discouragement, perfectionism, sibling fighting, school problems (homework, bullying, school anxiety, classroom misbehavior) teen issues, toddler/young child, anxiety/depression, divorce/co-parenting, sleep challenges, food issues.
I work exclusively within an Adlerian framework. I believe it is a common-sense, effective approach which fits perfectly in today's egalitarian world. I strive to be empathetic and am solution-oriented to help you reach results quickly. Average length of therapy: 5-10 sessions.
