I have over two decades of experience working with individuals, couples, and families facing mental health issues, trauma/PTSD, difficulties with interpersonal relationships, chronic pain, grief, life transitions, and sexuality. I don't condone toxic positivity, but I do believe in radical acceptance. That doesn't translate into complacency, but acceptance that there are limits to our ability to control our surroundings.
I work collaboratively with clients - you are the expert of you (and help you find your expertise if you don't believe that's true). I use a variety of modalities, including, but not restricted to DBT, Developmental Model for Couples, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution Focused, Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory and attachment.
I help you discover your agency. Realize how to change your perspective in order to identify where you do have choice. Recognize your feelings/needs and respond to them effectively. Learn the importance of self care, self-compassion, and differentiation in your relationships with others and yourself. Lessen defensiveness and gain a better sense of self.
