I'm passionate about helping folks with ADHD understand and accept themselves. The majority of people I speak to who have ADHD share stories about trying to explain their ADHD struggles to a friend, parent, teacher, etc. only to be misunderstood or not believed. Much of the suffering of ADHD comes from the way others respond to us, and the self-judgmental way we relate to ourselves. My own experience living with ADHD, and hearing about my clients' struggles and successes, has helped me appreciate the many different ways that ADHD can impact our lives, our jobs, our education, and our relationships.

These are strange times in which we have found ourselves. Trying to reconnect and re-engage in our "new" world can be overwhelming and exhausting. What were once little worries are now becoming cycling thoughts with no end. We tell ourselves that it's easier to stay on the couch than it is to venture out, call a friend, start that project, or discover a new interest. Perhaps you feel torn? Part of you knows what it wants to see happen in your life and knows what to do to get you there, but another part seems so intent on convincing you that you don't have the motivation or strength to change; you feel so stuck. I know ways to help.

I believe that individual experiences are what make us unique, thus "the relationship we have with ourselves sets the tone for every other relationship we have" (Jane Travis). I appreciate having the opportunity to support and work collaboratively with my clients, many of whom may be experiencing a diverse and/or complex array of concerns for their mental health needs and well-being. I strive to offer a safe and supportive environment where my clients can feel safe and secure in exploring their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. I strive to ensure that my client's needs and preferences are met and will adapt my approach when needed.

I believe in being transparent, flexible, nonjudgmental and creating safe spaces where people feel heard and connected.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with a passion for working with neurodivergent folks. As someone who only came to understand my own neurodivergency in my late 20s, I am all too familiar with the often-unique trials and tribulations that can arise throughout the lives of neurodivergent people (in addition to the often exceptional capabilities that can be a huge advantage in many facets of life!). I typically work with those struggling with general and social anxiety, depression, screen addiction, task avoidance, acquired brain injury, and/or self-advocacy.

Do you keep trying to pour from an empty cup? Maybe you’re swinging between hyper-productivity and burnout, exhausted by masking your true self, or worn down by the constant work of advocating for your or your family’s needs. After giving to others – whether as a parent, friend, or partner – you may find there’s little energy left to take care of you. Day-to-day tasks feel harder than they should, and you can never seem to get ahead. Your story doesn’t have to feel like this forever. Together, we can build the skills and support you need to turn the page and move forward – working with your unique brain instead of against it.

Accepting new clients. Many of us experience change as the uncomfortable space that bridges what was once our “normal” and our “new normal”. Whether it is chosen or imposed, change can cause feelings of isolation, vulnerability, sadness or anger. It can alter once predictable behavioral patterns such as sleep, action oriented tasks and social interactions. It begs us to reconsider our relationship to ourselves and the world in which we engage, which can feel disorienting.

Burnout is not a diagnosis in the DMS-V but will also be considered.
