The analytical journey often begins when a person experiences an extremely challenging time in his/her/their life, does not know what to do, and feels stuck. Jungian analysis is an opportunity for him/her/them to work on his/her/their problems and emotions by talking with a trusted and qualified professional who listens attentively and assists him/her/them in exploring a personal inner path for healing. It is deep soul and spiritual work. The weekly analytic hour is an opportunity to address that by exploring a person's inner and outer life, while focusing on unconscious personal and collective material, especially symbolically.
Analysts work with clients on their dreams, visions, images, and fantasies by exploring them symbolically and psychologically, gleaning together what these materials may have to offer and mean. Our unconscious material contains aspects of who we are as persons and how the Self is present in our lives. Personal maturation (individuation) is the ongoing goal.
This analyst has psychological, theological, and musical background, and 25+ years as an ordained clergyman (The United Church of Canada) and a community chaplain in clinical settings (hospitals). He is open to spiritual/religious, rural/urban, and gender identity/expression concerns, and provides a safe, contained place for such discussions.
