About
The decision to access counselling is a personal one. Whether you've been to a counsellor before, or you are just starting to explore the options, thank you. Not just for reading this - but for taking the time to look into what is available and what may be right for you. People generally come to therapy for a reason, such as a specific event that they would like to discuss, or to work through uncomfortable emotions. Together, we can prioritize goals, explore and work through issues, develop new coping strategies, and create a plan to determine next steps.
I have extensive experience working with youth and adults who are living with mental health challenges (i.e. anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, self-harm, and suicidal thinking). I have also worked with grief and bereavement - particularly perinatal loss and access to Medical Assistance in Dying. In addition, I am sex-positive and kink-aware.
I believe in the importance of having a good ‘fit’ with one's counsellor, and offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to help you determine if we might work well together. I recognize that the decision to access counselling isn’t easy, but urge you to reach out and try. You may be surprised at how helpful it can be.
