I am a guidance counsellor and psychotherapist in Québec and the co-founder of Nessiah Therapy, a virtual therapy clinic based in Montreal, QC. I support individuals aged 16+ who are experiencing mood concerns, relationship or interpersonal challenges, or exploring aspects of their identity and sense of self. I have experience in both academic settings and private practice, and primarily work with individuals aged 16–25.
I use a third-wave cognitive behavioural therapy framework to address and adjust maladaptive thought patterns and to replace them with more helpful coping skills. I combine compassion focused therapy techniques to reduce shame and judgement which are often internalized as a result of our experiences.
I often get asked what to expect in a first session, and my priority for us is to begin by establishing a therapeutic bond. Research continuously shows that one of the strongest predictors of successful therapeutic outcomes is the therapeutic alliance. In our sessions, we will always work at your own pace and comfort level.
