I am passionate about building hope and resilience in all who struggle. I bring 30 years of front line emergency services experience, 30 years as a crisis responder and 20 years as a college professor to my current role as a psychotherapist. I have successfully supported people from all walks of life, with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, in addition to occupational stress injuries, with an emphasis on post-traumatic growth. I offer in person, virtual appointments (with Doxy.me; No download or software required) and phone sessions.
I have a strength-based and solution-focused approach that validates and normalizes the issue(s) that bring clients into counselling. Through active listening and a collaborative approach, we can work together to set and achieve incremental goals. Narrative therapy, CBT, DBT and Choice and Reality approaches may be integrated and tailored to client needs.
