Throughout life we encounter circumstances that contribute to distress and overwhelm, and a hope for things to be different. I believe that change is always possible. I believe all feelings, such as sadness, pain, anxiety, anger, joy, and love serve an important function and provide us with information about ourselves and what we need. I recognize the complex roles of family, community, history, and culture contribute to who we are, what we feel, and how we cope.
I work in collaboration with individuals, couples, parents, and families to identify goals that encourage growth and movement. I support increased understanding of your emotional experience, behaviors and patterns, increase recognition and expression of your needs, within a process that considers connection, authenticity, security, and stability.
I have over 15 years of counselling experience regarding a variety of experiences including loss, anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, health issues, life cycle changes, relationship and communication difficulties, and navigating the life long journey as a parent. I integrate various lenses including IFS, Attachment Theory, Circle of Security, and DBT.
