I bring over 25 years of clinical experience to the therapy process. I am passionate about working alongside you and creating an environment where you feel accepted and can work at a pace that is manageable for you. I work from a strength based perspective bringing compassion and curiosity to the process as we figure out together your path to healing or personal growth. I have also supervised many interns in training as well as therapists as they seek to grow as clinicians. I have worked in the non-profit sector for most of my career and now I am concentrating on private practice.
One of the most frequent issues presented in therapy is anxiety. I find that clients often carry self-judgement for having anxiety and when we can remove that judgement it paves the way for anxiety to have a lot less power and influence over the client. It is incredibly rewarding to see clients develop freedom from the heaviness of anxiety.
Being vulnerable with a stranger can be very scary. It takes a lot of courage to take that step to reach out for therapy. I strive to be a comforting presence and invite curiosity into the therapy process to understand the underlying issues. Conversely, I invite clients to set down any self-condemnation so that there can be more freedom to explore.
