There are many good reasons to seek the help of a psychotherapist -- feeling distressed, low or depressed, difficulties in personal or work relationships, the loss of a family member/someone close to you, and many others. Life’s challenges can leave you feeling “stuck”, overwhelmed, not knowing which way to turn, or question your ability to cope with life's ups and downs. I focus on helping clients gain a deeper understanding of how they make sense of the world and those around them. Thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that inform decision making and actions, and provide support and guidance in creating positive and lasting changes.
I have been working with adults for most of my career and bring a diverse life experience to my therapeutic perspective. My approach to psychotherapy is insight orientated to promote the development of new coping strategies to help with managing some of the difficulties we face in life. My practice includes working with adults across various stages of life.
Within a collaborative and compassionate framework, I provide a safe context to enable you to look objectively at the issues that are impacting your ability to manage the challenges you face. I draw from humanistic, psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural and other appropriate frameworks to tailor the therapeutic process to meet your unique needs.
