About
Having the courage to reach out for assistance is a big first step. After building a foundational therapeutic alliance, I assist clients in identifying and reaching towards personal goals by developing strategies to sustain personal advances. Having worked with adolescents and young adults, I understand the unique pressures of balancing school with all of the complexities of life. At FLEX, I provide therapy to individuals experiencing challenges related to a variety of emotional, behavioural, and learning concerns, specializing in the area of student anxiety. I aim to create a safe place for clients to explore their emotions, thoughts and behaviours.
I take an eclectic approach to therapy utilizing elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Person-centred therapy, while occupying a strengths-based and solution focused lens. I feel passionate about working collaboratively with clients to empower therapeutic change and ensure therapy is tailored to your unique concerns.
In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I provide learning strategies counselling focused on targeted skill development. I teach students how to work smarter, instead of harder. Some of the areas of learning that I can provide counselling for include: procrastination, time management, note taking, organization, test preparation and taking, and more.
