Thank you for being here! My name is Jessica and I am a registered Social Worker. My specialization is providing support to children (6 +), teens, emerging adults, and caregivers, who may present with concerns about anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, family discord, adjustment, and self-esteem. I am particularly passionate about supporting folks as they navigate grief and loss after death, as well as anticipatory grief associated with life-limiting illness and end of life care. I recognize that any challenge experienced by one individual can have a significant impact on the entire family, and this informs my therapy approach.
My approach is strength’s- based and person centered, and the interventions I incorporate are depending on individual concerns, needs, and hopes for therapy. I draw from evidence-based models such as CBT, DBT and narrative therapy. In my work with children, I incorporate therapeutic play, which can include art, sand tray, toys, movement, reading and writing.
