As owner, operator and lead clinician at Jennifer Berard & Associates, I believe that all people have an incredible capacity for change. I've had the honour to observe individuals, with seemingly insurmountable challenges, create meaningful and lasting change. My approach is client centered. I believe that you are the expert in your life and I aim to help you find your own strength, in your own time, at your own pace. I have extensive experience and training in the Addiction and Mental Health field, with specialized experience in the addictions, trauma, forensics and first responders.
In 2003, I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a BHsc, in Addictions Counselling. In 2010, I completed my MA in Counselling Psychology through CityU of Seattle. I have been a registered psychologist with the CAP since March 2015 and working in the addictions/mental health field since 2003.
I have extensive experience working with addictions and trauma. I believe in helping people attain THEIR recovery goals. I understand that one approach does not fit all. I work within a bio/psycho/social context and believe in the benefit of a wide variety of approaches. I am also a trained EMDR and PE therapist.
