About
I specialize in helping people who experience depression, anxiety, low self-confidence, and painful feelings in current or past significant relationships. My work involves assisting people to make sense of their emotional reactions and supporting them to use this information to make wise decisions for their life. At other times, I help people alleviate their painful emotions by using techniques that change unhelpful emotion states to more invigorating emotion states. I believe in practicing as a culturally competent therapist, striving to be knowledgeable, open and respectful of the cultural beliefs and practices of all people.
I am a Registered Psychologist with a Master’s Degree from Simon Fraser University with over 10 years of experience counseling adults. I specialize in Emotion Focused Therapy and have been training and practicing in this approach since 2010. When appropriate, I also apply Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy strategies.
I believe that all people are resilient and capable of making positive changes, and at times need a nonjudgmental, supportive psychologist to tap into these strengths to move in a healthier direction. Finding a psychologist you connect with is the main predictor of good outcomes in therapy. Contact me for a free 15 min. phone consult to see if we connect!
