I am a warm , down to earth , Registered Social Worker with 25 years of experience. I have been in private practice for over 11 years.
I am originally from NFLD and Labrador and have lived in Regina for 7 years. I work with clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds and their struggles with trauma, addictions, anxiety, depression, among many others.
I draw heavily on the strengths-based perspective and believe that a strong rapport between client and counselor is the biggest determinant of success. Building an atmosphere of trust where one can open up without judgment is something I strive to provide for every client.
Beyond my academic and employment background, I bring much life experience to my work. Health issues; grief, LGBT issues (parent) ; issues unique to those of Indigenous descent (parent and spouse) ; child of a parent with Alzheimer's, and being the parent of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder have all helped to shape my unique therapeutic approach.
