For me, what is most important in working together is the relationship we develop. I truly believe a trusting relationship with your therapist where you feel safe, secure, and gently challenged supports healing, change and growth. I work with ages 12+ who have experienced trauma and loss, are wanting support with mental health (anxiety, depression and/or PTSD), are struggling with relationships, or need an affirming place to explore and discuss their gender identity and sexuality.
My passion is working with those who have experienced trauma, oppression, and loss. As someone with lived experience of trauma and complex grief, I offer a deep level of understanding of the short and long-term impacts and knowledge of ways of moving with/through these impacts. As a queer person I also have unique insight into challenges 2SLGBTQ+ folx face.
I understand deciding to talk to someone about the things close to your heart can feel scary and vulnerable. It is ok if you need to take time opening up or want to use non- verbal ways such as music, writing/poetry, art and the use of sand to express yourself and work through things. Ultimately, how we work and what we do together is up to you!
