As a Registered Social Worker (2013) & Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, with an Honours degree in Psychology and Masters degrees in both Psychology & Social Work, I have established a skill set to support those 16+. My experience includes supporting those with: disordered eating/eating disorders, anxiety, depression, body image, low self-esteem, perfectionism, general life stress, etc. I enjoy working from a strength-based perspective and will work to equip you with effective coping tools, as well as the necessary skills to move through your challenges. I have CBT-E (eating disorders), CBT and Addiction certificates.
For generalized counselling my approach is mainly cognitive-behavioural, but I am also flexible to include solution-focused and motivational work, etc. When working with eating issues, I will implement evidenced based approaches that have been associated with improved outcomes (e.g., Intuitive Eating support or structured CBT-E)
