Announcement icon I have immediate openings (by video) for individuals who need support during this unsettling and uncertain time. Call or email me to book.
If you are reading this you have already taken the scariest step; recognizing that you want help and support from a counsellor. Sometimes life gives us more than we can handle alone. It can be difficult for individuals to have healthy self-image and compassion, especially after experiencing disappointment, loss and trauma. Everyone has their own story that caused them to be in the place they currently are. And sometimes parts of our story interfere with us being able to move forward.
I believe everyone is resilient and has strengths within them to thrive and it’s my role to guide you through that journey. I help clients explore and process life challenges in a compassionate, warm, and non-judgemental way. Let’s develop effective strategies and work through the thoughts, beliefs and attitudes that are interfering you from moving forward.
I am passionate about helping individuals recognize their own resilience to become their best self. I believe in creating empowering, supportive and safe environments where individuals can grow and heal. I feel honoured to work with people in their journey, and believe my ability to connect quickly, and my skill set can assist us in making progress together.

Jackie Vaerewyck's Groups

Adolescent DBT Skills

The purpose of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy is to help individuals introduce effective and practical skills into their lives, which they can use when they are dealing with overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulty, distress and negative coping. These skills are meant to replace other unhealthy and negative behaviours. The group covers the 4 components of DBT: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal relationships. Through the group, you will gain a range of strategies for you to learn coping skills that improve the regulation of your emotions and behaviours, how to identify and label intense emotions and how to manage your feelings with behavioural strategies.
