I take an integrative approach, mainly drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Strengths Based approaches.
NO WAIT list & LOW-COST fees- Stress/Anxiety/Burnout, Self-Esteem, Depression, Relationships- I understand how overwhelming life can be, and want to be here to support you and walk alongside you on your path to wellness. I strive to create a warm, safe, and non judgemental space where you can feel heard and empowered. I believe we all hold the necessary resources to thrive and flourish, and can tap into our inner resources and strengths when provided an empathetic and supportive environment.

My approach is client-centred, integrative, and trauma informed.
Do you feel like you are sitting at a crossroads, disconnected from your authentic self, feel stuck or burnt-out, and tired of feeling tired? Bothered by feelings of uncertainty, limiting beliefs/low mood, and anxiety? Troubled by old wounds that you'd like to make peace with, or overwhelmed as you navigate your everyday life, your career, relationships, motherhood and beyond? You are not alone. Life can be challenging with many moving parts. It's not uncommon to be faced with difficulties, hardships, and the desire to find more peace and joy.

There are times in life, especially when you are feeling most vulnerable, that you need to share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Though friends and family are great and have good intentions, what do you do when their support and advice do not result in relief or the lasting change you desire? My primary purpose as a therapist is to be a safe and reliable person for you to explore emotions, motivations and behaviours; to help you improve self-understanding and relationships with others; to process grief and trauma; and to find healthy ways to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and experience desired personal growth.

How could a car, your boss, the classroom, the smell of marijuana, or a second-story window make your thoughts race & hands shake, with massive amounts of anxiety? Your well-meaning friends say “we all have something,” and it feels like no one understands. What you’re feeling is very real. In 2003 my spinal cord was punctured during an epidural procedure. It led to chronic pain. Several years later I suffered a stroke. When the ambulance came, they were convinced I was drunk. Only problem: I don't drink. I know what it’s like to be misunderstood. It’s provided me with empathy & understanding as we work together on your healing path.

Are you experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, or feelings of low self-esteem? Are you having trouble navigating your way through the loss of a loved one, a challenging relationship, or simply struggling to find meaning in your life? Many of us are knocked backwards by negative events that seem to unearth past hurts and make navigating our present and future more difficult. There are times when we need support and encouragement from outside of ourselves to help us navigate this inner world and push ourselves forward in our lives.

Welcome! As a therapist, I have the privilege of accompanying clients along their uniquely personal therapy journeys. My passion lies in providing a safe and judgement-free space for traditional counselling, and trauma processing via EMDR, IFS and DBR. The origin of unprocessed trauma isn't always immediately clear, yet it changes how we view ourselves and the world around us. It can keep us in old conditioning and unhelpful patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving while also limiting our ability to truly experience and embrace the present moment...where clarity, joy, and love of new experiences and relationships happen.

NO-WAIT list- Men's Issues, ADHD, Couples, Stress/Anxiety/Depression- You feel stuck, hopeless, and unsure about where to turn but just know that you want to start feeling better. Perhaps you are struggling with anxiety, overwhelm, ADHD or motivation issues and this is complicating seeking help. Or as a man, you've been feeling bad for quite a while but society tells you to "toughen up" and get through it on your own. Your self-worth has taken a hit and feel lost. Whatever it is you're struggling with, I'd be honoured to help you navigate this tough time and work towards creating a more fulfilling, empowered life.

Integrative Counsellors

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
