I use an integrative approach emphasizing self-awareness and insight, mindfulness, coping strategies, goal setting and skill building.
I believe the most important predictor of successful therapy is the quality of the client-therapist relationship. Finding the right therapist to talk to and collaborate with, is key to establishing a fresh new perspective and to create a plan for success. Trust, compassion, and respect are necessary in forming a good therapeutic relationship.

Together, in a safe and judgment free space, we'll use an integrative therapeutic approach to explore your story.
Does the weight of your worry continue to grow and leave you feeling exhausted? Are you trying hard to fit in, but usually end up feeling excluded, unhappy, and anxious? Or perhaps you're noticing that your child is finding it hard to connect with others? The stress of relationships and identity can be a lot to manage; having to tell someone about it can be downright overwhelming. If you or a loved one feels like there's nowhere else to turn, accessing the support of a trusted therapist can help you focus on your strengths and discover who you really are.

I am trained in various therapeutic modalities and I provide client-centred, integrative, holistic services tailored to your specific needs and goals.
We live in a traumatized world with many factors impacting our mental health and well-being negatively. Everything from war, conflicts, racial violence, displacement, loss, grief, family and relationship issues, life transitions, all test our strength and ability to cope with the demands of everyday life. We all need support, human connection, kindness and compassion to get through these difficult times. It can be difficult to reach out for help and embark on an unknown path to a healing journey. It takes courage and commitment to engage in therapy but it can also be extremely rewarding when you get the appropriate support.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from psychodynamic traditions, emotion-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness approaches.
I offer a supportive and non-judgemental environment wherein we can understand your challenges and explore the underlying issues that created them. I will work with you to create lasting change by facilitating self-reflection, self-acceptance, and by examining emotional and interpersonal patterns. In the initial sessions, I try to understand your concerns, history, unique background (e.g., gender, sexual orientation, race), and expectations. I will explain my therapeutic approach, how therapy works, and what you can reasonably expect in terms of treatment outcomes.

My theoretical orientation can be described as an integrative approach that combines aspects of therapeutic modalities including CBT, psychodynamic models, and DBT, among others.
I have extensive experience working with adolescent and adult populations transitioning through life stages. I support individuals and families experiencing a range of mental health challenges as I provide a unique perspective on coping with anxiety, navigating relationships, and building resiliency. Using a realistic and non-judgemental approach, I help my clients overcome obstacles and rewrite their own narratives. Making effective change isn't easy but it's never motivated by shame or criticism. I feel this is crucial when working to build self-esteem, overcome substance use dependency, alcoholism, and other forms of addiction.

I use an integrative, relational, mind-body approach and have specialized in complex trauma and dissociation, having trained extensively in EMDR, DBR, Structural Dissociation (parts work), Here+Now Work & somatic-relational modalities such as the Hakomi Method.
It’s not always easy being human, is it? I find that the greatest gift of therapy, when there is a strong air of compassion, presence and curiosity in the therapeutic alliance, is the ability to reclaim our needs, our full range of feelings, our joy and our aliveness. While building skills of mindfulness, self-compassion, and embodied awareness, I believe there is immense possibility that lies in our unfolding wholeness, waiting to be discovered - creative choice made more accessible, when we're less held back by our fears, our core beliefs, and pain that we've had to organize around to survive.

I follow an integrative, personalized, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.
I believe mental health care is not a one-size fits all. Everyone experiences mental health concerns at some point in life. That experience is different for everybody and care must be personalized with considerations of the wholeness of the person and their circumstances.

With a culturally responsive and trauma-focused lens, I take an integrative approach to therapy by drawing on psychodynamic and humanistic frameworks that've been proven effective.
Starting therapy can feel like embarking on a journey into uncharted territory. It's confronting overwhelming challenges like the persistent weight of anxiety, the pervasive cloud of depression, the tension of stress, or the intricate interplay of life’s multifaceted issues that often drives us to seek therapeutic support. Making the decision to start therapy marks a pivotal moment in the pursuit of self-discovery and healing. Entering therapy is a testament to resilience. It's about bravely confronting internal struggles with the hope of finding relief, understanding, and ultimately, positive change.

When working with you I will utilize an integrative approach.
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or difficulties managing school or work related stress? My focus is on providing a caring, non-judgmental and safe space for clients to share their stories and work through their challenges. I believe that there is no “one-size-fits-all” method to supporting clients, and trust the client is the expert of their own life. I also understand the importance of developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship and strive to help my clients to recognize their existing strengths, while acknowledging their unique needs, priorities and values.

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
