About

Hi! My name is Imane Ait Daoud and I am a DBT therapist providing DBT group therapy in Alberta for teens! I completed my master's in Psychological Sciences in Duluth, Minnesota. Following, I decided to move somewhere colder (because -30 was not enough), fast forward a year and here I am, a Provisional Psychologist in Edmonton! I am dedicated to providing mental health services to all individuals regardless of race, religion, color, or creed. I believe that all people deserve compassion. I strive to incorporate cultural competency and unconditional positive regard in my work.
DBT can be a helpful tool for those who experience difficulties with managing emotions and associated cognitions and behaviors. This may be particularly true for adolescents. DBT uses skills training in areas including emotion regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance to help you develop the tools you need to succeed.
At Plum BHS we are offering a 24 week DBT skills training course online coupled with individual therapy sessions through Dochas Psychological Services. Participation in our DBT program includes 1.5 hr weekly group sessions led by a team of DBT mental health professionals, and four individual commitment sessions provided prior to commencement of group.
