About
I work exclusively with autistic and neurodivergent queer & trans people. As an autistic, trans & queer therapist, I don't ‘treat’ autism or gender divergence. I treat the trauma caused by neurodisablism & sanism, cissexism & heterosexism. Instead helping you ‘adapt’ or ‘hide’ your ‘differences’ to “fit in” to neurotypical culture, I support you to diverge, to find your other way, and find your way to others. Together we can turn the tables on disablement & pathologization from the inside out and the outside in.
Some of the issues I work with people around are: developmental and complex trauma; autistic burnout; unmasking; inertia & flow states; gender, sexuality & relationships; navigating accommodations; understanding autistic & neurodivergent identity & experience; sensory resourcing; meltdowns & shutdowns; pre-diagnostic prep and post-diagnostic fallout; etc.
I am passionate about synthesizing research that challenges neurotypical bias and creating alternatives to prevailing pathologizing and disabling models of mental health - I work with survivors of autism, gender & sexuality conversion “therapies”, and those who have been harmed by other mental health 'treatments' designed by and/or for neurotypicals.
